  3. heat the oil in a frying pan and saute onions for 3-4 mins until the onion is soft. Set aside to cool.
  4. in a large bowl, combine the tomatoes, parsley, flour, cheese, paprika and season.
  5. add the cooked onions and ham and stir to combine.
  6. whisk together eggs and milk and fold into other ingredients gently until just combined.
  7. spoon into prepared trays and bake for 12-15 mins until golden and puffed.

Things I will next time definitely add more ham and cheese and less parsley,
Things I learned, I learned how to saute properly and now I can do that easier next

Slave trade// Social Studies// 10Hh

Over the past week in Social Studies we have been working on the slave trade triangles, This is actually so upsetting to see how people were treated back in  days.

Chocolate double helix// science// 10Hh

Double Helix made out of Chocolate.
A pair of parallel helices intertwined about a common axis, especially that in the structure of the DNA molecule (but instead this one is made out of chocolate)

Aim- To make a successful Double Helix made from chocolate
Equipment- One block of chocolate, Bowl, baking paper, piping bag, microwave, freezer, Spoon.

Method:

  1. Place all the Chocolate into the bowl
  2. Put in the microwave for 30 take out an repeat if needed
  3. When it's done lay down a flat piece of baking paper
  4. Open the piping paper and spoon all the chocolate into it then cut a small hole at the tip
  5. draw one wiggly line then another identical but mirrored then draw a line connecting the to sides of the helix together
  6. place in the freezer

Observations
While making this double helix it was quite difficult because it was hard to make both sides of the helix's identical, but I tried to do the best as I could!!

Conclusion
Well obliviously it wasn't a real double helix but considering that it was made out of chocolate I think it looks pretty good, Next time I would definitely have focused more on the detail and maybe used different kinds of chocolate and maybe coloured some.

Discussion
Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is the same in all living things. It looks like a twisted ladder known as a Double Helix. DNA is made up of continuous units called Nucleotides. A Nucleotide is made up of sugar and phosphate also a base. Both sides made up of the Sugar and phosphate are joined together by chemicals called Nucleotide bases.

Evaluation
A couple of things that would make it easier on you is...

  • Place the chocolate into the piping bag before melting then melt it in the piping bag.
  • Draw a couple of different diagrams so you have options.
Next steps
Things I could have done better/change...
  • I would have definitely paid more attention to the details.
  • I would use different colours and flavors so that it would look a lot better.
I think that could have done better if I did both of thing but I'm still proud that it has the same outline as the double helix.

Tarzan// English // 10Hh

Two Worlds, One Family. This means to me that family will always be there but there is a whole other world out there for you to explore.

Here is my paragraphs that i wrote  an important message I seen while watching Tarzan.

Your family is not necessarily who you look like or who gave birth to u its who is there to love and support, who is always there for you. I seen this when Kala took Tarzan to see where she found him, his feelings were kind towards Kala even though he could have been angry because he had been lied to his whole life but this just shows that blood doesn't mean nothing when u love someone.
I think that Tarzan doesn't care who we call his family I think he cares for the people that he will protect and who will protect him.

Chicken and rice patties // Home Economics //2019

Last week we cooked Chicken and rice patties.
These were pretty easy to make an was very yum. Things that I would change for next time, I would use more spray on our tins and cook the rice a bit longer as it was quite hard to eat, Our teacher ended up preparing the chicken(poached) for us but I would have just cut it then cook in a  pan because it was hard to shred the way she done it.

I learnt that i should focus more when im doing the mis en place because i was a bit confused into how long before I should have turnt on the oven, i also learnt a whole knew recipe.

Things we changed in the recipes
2 cups rice
½ carrot
1-2 spring onions stalks
¾ cup of grated cheese
2 eggs

Next time I cook this I will probably no use any meat, I will add some spinach and red onion and maybe some capsicum. Other than what will change next time I really enjoy cooking this meal.

Perishable and no perishable
perishable  food are food that can last for a long period of time eg:  Caned foods, Noodles
No perishable i foods that wont last as long eg: bread, milk.

Where you store your food is important because the temperature will Change how long it will last for eg: milk wont last as long if it isn't chilled

This semester in health we are doing hauora we are focusing on spiritual well being.
To me spiritual well being is all about you,it is all about who u believe in. Spiritual well being is also about what you  identify as, also what u feel and what you think is most important.

FROM THE VALUES YOU CHOSE, WRITE ABOUT TWO THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO WORK ON
WHAT BEHAVIOURS OR ACTIONS ARE YOU ALREADY DOING THAT SUPPORT THIS VALUE
WHAT COULD YOU STOP DOING/CHANGE TO BETTER SUPPORT THIS VALUE
WHAT COULD YOU START DOING TO BETTER SUPPORT THIS VALUE
Trust being able to believe what someone said or did with out having to fully investigate them juts putting your trust into someone Think about the future not now aday thing about if your really know they will be there for you no matter what. knowing people before thinking to quickly
Respect Letting people be who they want to be, respecting who they are. Just letting people be who they want to be not just judging people base on what u think. Also respecting there opinion and them as a human. Not thinking to quickly who they are.

Shading // Art// Year 10

This semester we have been focusing on shading, i have been enjoying this heaps cause i have really improved and learnt new techniques when it come to art

- Have you improved with shading?
I have improved by understanding the positive and negative space and being able to see where there need to be a highlight, I do still think that can improve but that will just take practice.
- do you understand that using a structure can help you draw better (light loose lines under your work)? explain what this means to a reader.
Yes, I think having a structure will help regardless because it will make you fell more organised and want to carry on and keep going on with you art. This can result in better outcome.
- What are you going to work on going forward in pencil drawing in and out of class?
I am gonna work on controlling how hard I push down on my paper with my pencil and and not rushing as much also I am gonna work on smudging my pencil better so im not getting it all over the place
